Workshop to develop training guideline for offshore wind entry-level technicians

2024/04/23

  • Event

Japan Wind Power Association (JWPA) and Global Wind Organisation (GWO) held a workshop from 10 to 15 April 2024 to jointly develop safety and technical training guideline for entry-level technicians suitable for the Japanese offshore wind market, based on a Memorandum of Understanding signed in October last year.

The workshop was attended by Japanese GWO training operators and wind-related operators, who discussed the definition of 'entry-level technicians' and the differences between the education required for work in offshore wind in both Japan and Europe.

The results of this workshop will be compiled and published as guideline in the future. JWPA and GWO will continue to contribute to the development of offshore wind personnel in Japan.
