Mr. Akiyoshi speaks at the APAC Wind Energy Summit 2025

Mr. Masaru Akiyoshi, President of A Japan Wind Power Association (JWPA) took part in a panel discussion at the APAC Wind Energy Summit 2025 (sponsored by GWEC: Global Wind Energy Council) held in Melbourne, Australia from September 16th to 18th, 2025.
GWEC (Global Wind Energy Council) is member-based international industry organization that represent over 1,500 members from over 80 countries involved in the entire wind power sector. It provides policy advocacy, regulatory design to the government, planning, statistics and research worldwide to promote the healthy and stable expansion and deployment of wind power. To this Summit, approximately 150 experts from a total of 20 countries in the APAC (Asia-Pacific region) gathered to exchange opinions and make presentations in a total of 35 panel sessions.
Mr.Akiyoshi, as JWPA’s president, was one of four panelists in a session held in the afternoon of the first day (titled Unlocking the potential of Japan's offshore wind power: opportunities and challenges from the industry perspective) and shared his view on the current state and challenges of offshore wind power in Japan, as well as promising Japanese technologies for the future of offshore wind power. A large audience from Asian countries and Europe attended this session, listening attentively to the opinions of each panelist.
At this Summit, Mr.Akiyoshi and other JWPA member had a meeting with GWEC executives and exchanged views with wind power organizations from Australia, Singapore, and the Philippines. They agreed to continue exchanging opinions and information with regard to the creation of supply chains within APAC region and requests from the industry regarding the regulatory design to promote offshore wind power at each country.
