Construction started for Nagasaki-Goto floating offshore wind farm (2.1MW x 8units= 16.8MW, spar type)

Construction work has started for Nagasaki-Goto floating offshore wind farm.

It locates offshore of Fukue island at Goto islands in Nagasaki pref., south west region in Japan.

Hitachi's 2.1 MW downwind turbine on the spar type floater made by Steel & Concrete.

8 sets 16.8MW in total were selected at Round1 offshore wind auction.

The floaters were built at the quay yard of Fukue Port, Goto City.

Tower was attached to the floater at the quay, then, it set sail to sea with semi-submersible spud burge.

The floater with tower was raised off the coast of Kabashima, where is deep and weak wind condition.

Nacelle and rotor will be attached afterwards.

They aim to assemble 3 wind turbines by the end of 2022 and more 5 wind turbines in 2023, and start commercial operation in Jan. 2024.
