Installed capacity of wind power generation at the end of 2017: 3,399 MW, 2,225 units

JWPA announces the installed capacity of wind power generation in Japan as of the end of December 2017.
They are surveyed by the JWPA.

The cumulative installed capacity at the end of December, 2017
= 3,399 MW, 2,225 units, 434 sites
Net new installation for 2017 (January-December)
= 169 MW, 77 units, 12 sites

The annual new installation has decreased from 192 MW in 2016.
It is caused by the delay of many projects, due to Japanese time consuming Environmental Impact assessment procedure.

Note: JWPA has researched old decommissioned sites last year.
Then, the cumulative installed capacity at the end of December, 2016
was re-estimated to as follows.

The revised cumulative installed capacity at the end of December, 2016
= 3,230 MW, 2,148 units, 422 sites
Revised net new installation for 2016 (January-December)
= 192 MW, 92 units, 8 sites
